Florida Branch Makes its Mark on First Visit to Anguilla

Although the Florida branch of APANY was only established in 2013, members have already made significant strides, especially on their first visit to Anguilla in November. Expanding beyond their annual dinner dance celebration, the team, which included Sharene Rogers-Stuart and Godwin Carty, donated supplies to the Anguilla Red Cross, which have since been distributed to the elderly and the Education Department.

A release from APANY’s President, Mr. Carlson Lloyd, stated, “The Anguilla Progressive Association of New York continues to make useful donations to community organisations on the island. The group plans to visit the senior citizens homes, the prison and the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School while on the island. In addition, the group has set up several radio interviews to highlight the work that APANY is doing in the United States of America.”

Lloyd also stated, "APANY strives to carry on the philanthropic ideas of the previous organizations as the Anguilla Progressive Society of New York that was started in New York in 1923 and the Sons and Daughters of New Jersey. Membership in the Association is open to any person who shares a common interest in promoting the goals and objectives of the Association. APANY also works with several organizations in Anguilla to accept contributions in North America.”
