 There is a powerful consensus that youth violence is becoming a major problem in Anguilla. At APANY we believe that there is a moral imperative to act to reduce youth violence and keep our youth and community safe. Too many teen lives are being destroyed by incidents that does not reflect the sentiment of the “Tranquility wrap in Blue” Island we once knew. This could be a threat to our local economy that is largely dependent on the tourism and hospitality industry. We therefore recommend the support of permanent funding and implementation of projects that will provide ;

1.meaningful after-school activities

2.Help us get good paying jobs/career

3.improve economic opportunities for our youth

4.Help create a sense of hope about the future

5.Help curve the senseless violence among our youth

Youth Programs

APANY aims to provide a forum in which the Government of Anguilla, Health Care Volunteers and other goodwill institutions can work together to take care of Senior Citizens of Anguilla. Older persons have been at the foundation of the development of our country and the freedom we now enjoy. Currently the Department of Social Development, The Anguilla Social Security Board and four (private owned)  Homes for Senior Citizens continues to play an integral role in the wellbeing and care for Anguilla Senior Citizens  In  2009 the Government of Anguilla established a National Policy for older persons. Yet today, based on facts, real life experience and current economic conditions, it remains a struggle to deliver the long term quality care and services needed for the elderly.  As an organization we are  dedicated to supporting innitiatives that will contribute towards enhancement and facilitating  social activities and other wellness programs related to Senior  Care .

The Anguilla Red Cross is one of the eight Overseas Branches of the British Red Cross UK , operational in the so called British Overseas Territories and subject to the British Government. The Red Cross’ fundamental principle of unity means that every country can only have one Red Cross National Society, so the Branches on these islands also form part of the British Red Cross. The Anguilla Red Cross is currently exploring programs in the community that can help young people and adults participate in the developmental process through volunteerism in the areas of First Aid / CPR, HIV/AIDS, Youth & Peer Education, Health and Community issues as well as other case sensitive programs,  High on their list of objectices,  is the purchase of a Wheel Chair  Ambulance to Transport the Elderly.
