APANY
Anguilla Progressive Association of New York, Inc.
Objective
Our ultimate goal is to establish a multi-functional community center in Anguilla: a center that gives everyone—youth, seniors, rich, less fortunate — a place to grow, get involved, and feel appreciated. This new facility will be a place where the community can come together and grow mentally, physically, and spiritually, and feel proud of what they do and who they are. This togetherness will serve as a reminder that we are all part of something bigger than ourselves and that in unity we can make a difference.
Mission
In keeping with our mission, our vision consists of:
-
A welcoming community center where everyone is invited and encouraged to participate
-
A community where we embrace the knowledge, skills, support, and confidence necessary to succeed in all areas of life
-
A community where we give full attention to our youth and help curb the violence that is embedded in their society
-
A community where everyone has access to and information about healthy ways of life
-
A community where older adults are vital, independent, inspired, and connected

Infrastructure
It is important to establish this facility for example :
1) in an area that is designated for a high capacity town center or modern complex in the Valley.
or
2) Design a plan that will blend into the historic architecture of the Valley and reconstruct the property at the Old Hospital on Crocus Hill and restore the look of the Valley
This part of the Valley leading to the beautifull setting of Crocus Bay can once again regain the character of a pitoresque little town center as part of a cottage Industrie plan with restaurants, art shops and local boutiques.
It is a bold idea and I can invision the nation's public & private sector, fellow Anguillians – young and old, at home and abroad, past, present, and future visitors to our Island – all putting the pieces together to make this happen.
Calvin Bartlett

As part of a larger plan of local development, members of APANY aims to initiate a plan to promote a make-over of the Old Hospital property at Crocus Hill and transform this into a multi-purpose center which would address community needs for various age groups and act as a catalyst for community development. The center includes spacing for recreational, social and communication activities, a senior citizens service center, a youth center, a meeting point for local councilors and planning officials. One of the major aims of this project is to empower community participation, develop a sense of community ownership, and train members of the community. This project is a community based, multi-functional initiative, which will provide a mix of, cultural and economic activities in a practical, attractive environment.
